In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden group.

The adventure centers on "strange trials and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
